My favourite album
This album has really really clicked with me recently so I'm just finna talk about what I love about it real quick. So obviously there are a bunch of jokes and less serious songs but this album is one of the most mature albums I have actually heard in my life. In this album he admits his part in the breakup and toxicity with Kim and apologised to his daughters for putting them through that, he apologised to the fans for (in his eyes) making sub par music, he admits that he almost lashed out at other rappers by dissing them and says he believes he would have lost, he kicks himself for blaming everyone else for his awful state, he talks openly about his mental state and self hate and he talks about his suicide attempt after proof died. The verses in this album are in my opinion some of the best of his career. Like the crazy bar work on No Love and Not Afraid are absolutely insane. The way that Wayne and Em go bar to bar so well on No Love is honestly one of the best match ups of both of their careers. The emotional depth in songs like Talking 2 Myself, Going Through Changes, Space Bound and 25 To Life is so fucking beautiful man. I think the weakest part of the album is maybe the hooks and yeah while I love the hooks on W.T.P, Almost Famous and Love The Way You Lie there are some pretty weak choruses on this album for sure. I don't know if this is a hot take but I love the rock infusion you hear on some of these songs like Almost Famous. This, to me at least, is the definition of imperfect perfection. No skips for me personally
